Committing to our clients

Saint-Gobain PAM

PAM makes a commitment to its customers

Saint-Gobain PAM is doing all it can to satisfy its customers. The company is genuinely committed to quality, not only from an economic point of view but also from an ecological standpoint. Currently an important requirement, sustainable development is a priority in the company policy.

The carbon footprint

The carbon footprint is a method of calculating greenhouse gas emissions: it takes into account the primary energy and the final energy of products and services. It is an attempt to respond to several (demographic, environmental, geostrategic) issues as well as their effects on climate (such as global warming, desertification, rising water levels, the collapse of biodiversity). To assist its customers with the calculation of their project’s carbon footprint, Saint-Gobain PAM is able to provide Environmental Product Declarations in accordance with standards regarding life cycle analysis (EN 14044 and EN 15804).

Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)

LCA provides an effective method for assessing the environmental impacts of a product, a service or a process. LCA goes beyond the Carbon Footprint since it allows for the analysis of multiple impacts. This analysis is used to evaluate the impact on the environment of a product or service (transport of water) throughout its life cycle, that is, from the moment it is manufactured to the moment it is recycled.Total Cost of Ownership - TCO (Life cycle cost analysis)

This analysis takes into account the cost of the pipeline throughout its entire life cycle. This period includes purchase, installation and maintenance, as well as end-of-life recycling. The PAM solution in ductile cast iron benefits from a remarkable return on investment thanks to its very low maintenance requirements, its water tightness and the savings this offers in terms of reduced pumping.
This cost of ownership analysis is used to improve the selection of materials for long-term investments such as water supply and waste water networks.
The use of life cycle cost for tender selection is strongly recommended in the European Directive 2014/25 Article 83 relating to public procurement.

Local norms & standards respect

Every country, every project and every customer imply its own requirements and needs. In order to be able to support all of our clients, Saint-Gobain invests in the quality on a daily basis and take concrete steps to prove it. Indeed, the company already answers to most of international norms and standards (ISO 9001-2008; ISO 14001-2004; ISO 2531-2009 et EN 545-2011) and goes even beyond expectations while respecting local requirements.
