Environmental Product Declaration
When it comes to creating a more sustainable built environment, we believe life cycle analysis is the most comprehensive way to assess environmental impact. That’s why we embed this approach within our Eco‑Innovation process, ensuring the entire life cycle of a product is considered, from initial design through to end of life, when developing any new solution.
Many of our products already deliver clear environmental benefits, such as helping to manage flooding or protect against cable theft. However, as manufacturers of ductile iron products, we also recognise the importance of understanding and transparently communicating the environmental impact of their manufacture and use. Our EPDs provide this clarity, covering every stage from raw material extraction and processing through manufacturing, transport, installation, maintenance, and finally end‑of‑life recycling.
As part of our ongoing Sustainability Strategy, we are making real progress in improving how we communicate and share environmental information with our customers. Following an extensive data collection and life cycle analysis programme, we are proud to have published a full suite of Cradle‑to‑Grave Environmental Product Declarations for our Natural range of ductile iron pressure pipe systems for potable water applications.
By working closely with Envirodec, we have ensured that all of our EPDs fully comply with, and are independently verified to, the stringent requirements of ISO 15804:2012 and ISO 14025:2006—giving our customers confidence that the data is accurate, robust and presented in line with internationally recognised standards.
