• Unlike a typical 450mm gully, Proteus' narrow grating profile avoids excessive traffic clipping which is known to cause stress, wear and early gully failures. However, because the Proteus grating is less than 300mm wide, HGV wheels avoid driving over the front edge of the grating, which considerably reduces impact and wear on the frame.

• Its unique angled bridge is designed to evenly distribute stress and resist movement, resulting in a solution that offers long-term performance.

• Load transfer system corners disperse and reduce the strain if the grating does experience any heavy loads, enhancing the installation strength and increasing the grating lifespan. 

• Large muti-directional wedge seatings also enhance stability and durability of the grating within the frame, eliminating movement and reducing wear.

Superior water clearing and reduced health & safety risks to road users

• Proteus has a large water clearing area along the kerbline, where it is most important. It exceeds the minimum requirement defined within chapter 5.4 of Section 5. in National Highways CD 534 and HA 102.
