Our history
Water in our blood
Since 1856, we have ensured the invisible movement of millions of litres of water right under the feet of local residents the world over.
The pioneers of water
The whole thing began with the discovery of an important iron ore deposit in Meurthe-et-Moselle in 1854. In 1856, the “Pont-à-Mousson Blast Furnaces and Foundries Public Limited Company” was founded. How could this modest foundry become a world leader in water networks? Thanks to strong intuition, we focused on pipe design.
Writing the history of water
The gamble was a bold one: to specialize in the water sector even before hygiene became a public health priority. This gamble cemented the company's place in history, as it was to become the voice of the water industry. Both in France and internationally.
Industrial creativity
The successive arrivals of reinforced concrete, steel, asbestos cement and plastic impelled PAM to redouble its industrial inventiveness. This challenge was met with the development of ductile iron, a material known for its strength and durability. In 1970, the company joined the Saint-Gobain group, thus strengthening its position and drove its diversification.
Now a global player and European leader, PAM is taking on an ambitious but necessary challenge: decarbonation.
