Air Valves Range
Single and double air valves protect pipelines from the adverse effects caused by the accumulation of air in high points or at odd points in the networks.
These include:
- Total or partial interruption of the flow by the presence of an air pocket in a high point of the network;
- Water hammer due to the depressurisation of the pocket of air or its displacement within the pipes; and
- Loss of prime in pumps and traps.
Single air valves
Single air valves allow low flow degassing of air that has accumulated in the highest points of pipelines that are in operation (0.3 bar). They are available with four different types of connectivity: with or without a flange, with a valve and with no particular specificity.
Available products
- Low flow single air valve: PFA 10, 16 and 25 bar
- Single air valve: multiple drilling flange DN 405060, PFA 10,16 and 25 bar
- High pressure single air valve: DN 100, PFA 40 bar
Double air valves
Double air valves have three functions:
- Evacuation of air at a high flow rate when pipes are being filled;
- Intake of air at a high flow rate when pipelines are being drained (protection of the network against a pressure drop in the pipelines in the case of a main being broken); and
- Degassing at a low flow rate when in operation.
PURGEX DN60 protects mains DN60 up to 200. The device evacuates great air amount during the filling of the main. Allows the inlet of great air amounts (in order to avoid a vacuum effect) during the emptying of the main.
For Pipes DN60 up to 350. Evacuates small air amounts that are accumulated in the high points of the main during normal working conditions.

The Ventex SR air valves are without shutter gasket. They are less bulky and easier to handle. They therefore do not include isolating system.
The air valves are in conformance with EN 1074-4 and have a certificate of sanitary conformity.
Warning: in order to allow the maintenance, the air valves must be installed with a concentric butterfly valve Lug type or an isolating valve Euro 20 type between the network and the air valve.

Air valves available in 4 models: model 100, model 110, model 111, model 112 and model 113
The Automatic Degassing Air Valve is used on pressurized pipes to evacuate the air or a mix of air/water accumulated in the high points of the pipeline during normal duty. It has to be fitted on each track peak, meant as slope changing.
Low and high pressure air relief valve (double effect): the device evacuates great air amounts during the filling of the main, allows the inlet of great air amounts (in order to avoid a vacuum effect) during the emptying of the main and evacuates small air amounts that are accumulated in the high points of the main during normal working conditions
Low pressure air relief valve (simple effect):
The device evacuates great air amounts during the filling of the piping or allows the inlet of great air amounts (in order to avoid a vacuum effect) during the emptying of the piping.
