Elastomer Ring

The elastomer ring of PAMREX and VIATOP manhole covers ensures:

• The damping of mechanical stresses caused by the repeated passage of vehicles and so preserves the bedding and the matter on which the manhole cover rests.
• The self-centring and stability of the cover while enclosing the lower skirt of this one, thus removing all contact metal/metal between cover and frame (silence with the traffic) and works against the suction phenomenon caused by vehicles' tyres.

The URBAMAX manhole covers are also equipped of elastomer rings.

It's necessary to be ensured, during the handling of covers and notably before the closing, that the elastomer ring is free from dirtinesses and to clean if it's necessary.

The presence of dirtinesses (for example small stones) between the cover and the ring involves the premature degradation of this one.

In the event of degradation, it's imperative to change the ring quickly.

The change is carried out by unsnapping of degraded ring and reinstallation of a new ring adapted to the manhole cover.
